You may have heard: “Singapore has fridge grants that can give up to 70% off for eligible models.”
That statement is mostly true — but it depends on which scheme you’re referring to:
Energy Efficiency Grant (EEG) – for eligible businesses, with up to 70% support for SMEs on pre-approved energy-efficient equipment (including refrigerators).
Climate Vouchers (CFHP) – for households, offering $300 + $100 vouchers (up to $400 total) that can be used on eligible energy-efficient refrigerators (3 ticks and above).

The Energy Efficiency Grant (EEG) supports businesses by co-funding their purchase of energy-efficient equipment, including refrigerators.
For the Base tier, the grant supports up to 70% for SMEs and up to 30% for non-SMEs, with a support cap up to S$30,000, and the support rate stated until 31 March 2026.
✅ This is the scheme people often refer to when they say “70% off”.
👉 Energy Efficiency Grant Eligible Equipment
EEG is for eligible companies operating in Singapore — including Food Services, Retail, and Manufacturing (including Food Manufacturing) (and some other sectors).
Common examples:
cafés, restaurants, cloud kitchens
supermarkets, minimarts, retail shops
food manufacturers, central kitchens
Key eligibility points (Base tier) include requirements such as:
business registered and operating in eligible sectors
minimum local shareholding requirement (with certain sector exceptions)
equipment must be used in Singapore

This is the part that matters most: EEG only supports pre-approved equipment under the Base tier.
So the correct workflow is:
Choose a refrigerator that is on the pre-approved list
Get a formal quotation
Apply first (don’t start procurement early)
Purchase after approval
The official pages direct applicants to the supported equipment list (pre-approved models) online.

A very common mistake is buying first, then trying to claim later.
EEG guidance states companies may not be eligible if they have commenced procurement at the point of application, and applications may be rejected if certain actions happened before applying (e.g., payments / contracts).
Simple rule:
✅ Apply first → get approval → then buy.
EEG Base tier applications go through the Business Grants Portal (BGP).
From the programme guidance, companies are generally asked to prepare documents like:
vendor quotations (with breakdown of fees)
product brochures/specs
proof of deployment location (e.g., tenancy/agreements)
financial statements / company details (as required)
If your customer is a homeowner, the more relevant scheme is often Climate Vouchers under the Climate Friendly Households Programme (CFHP).
Eligible households can use $300 + $100 Climate Vouchers (up to $400 total in one purchase).
Refrigerators are eligible if they meet 3 ticks and above under the programme product list.
Eligibility is based on residency/address criteria (Singapore Citizens/PRs in HDB; and Singapore Citizens in private residential properties, per programme info).
The programme FAQs state vouchers expire on 31 December 2027.

If you’re talking about “up to 70% off”, that’s typically the Energy Efficiency Grant (EEG) for eligible businesses, and it applies to pre-approved refrigerator models.
If you’re talking about households, Climate Vouchers can offset up to $400 and apply to 3-tick-and-above refrigerators, with vouchers expiring 31 Dec 2027.
